A generic model of axion inflation can be described by an effective theory of an axion field coupled to gravity
and possibly further (moduli) fields. Such Einstein-axion-moduli theories admit Euclidean solutions with finite
action termed Gravitational Instantons. It is expected that Gravitational Instantons give rise to higher
harmonics in the axion potential which can be dangerous for models of large-field inflation. In this talk I will
assess to what extent Gravitational Instantons can constrain or rule out axion models of large-field inflation.
