Titre | Listening for Invisible Axions |
Résumé | Conventional approaches to probing axions and axion-like particles (ALPs) typically rely on a coupling to photons. If this coupling is extremely weak, ALPs are effectively decoupled from the Standard Model. However, ALPs may also couple to the dark photon of a hidden sector U(1). We show that it is possible to probe such models via chiral gravitational waves sourced by an exponential production of the dark vector shortly after the ALP begins to oscillate. |
