Titre  Nonlinear sigma models in 2d, thetaterms, anomaly matching and lattice field theory 
Résumé  I will discuss bosonic nonlinear sigma models in 2d, specifically focusing on the CP(N1) and flagmanifold target space. These models allow thetaterms. I will show that interesting anomaly matching conditions exist for these models at specific values of theta, allowing rigorous predictions about the phasediagram of the models. If time permits, I will also discuss numerical studies of such systems. The thetaterm typically introduces the complexaction problem, prohibiting Monte Carlo simulations from firstprinciples. This complexaction problem can be overcome however by proper reformulation of the theory on the lattice, and subsequent dualization. The approach leads to some beautiful results in higher dimensions as well, such as natural definition of magnetically charged matter and Kramers–Wannier duality in 4d.
