Résumé |
The perturbative approach to the computation of superstring amplitudes leads to considering integrals over spaces of surfaces of fixed genus. The kind of surface considered is different when one deals with open strings or closed strings. In this talk I will describe how several recent breakthroughs in the study of genus zero and genus one have revealed a beautiful mathematical structure. This sheds more light on some general features of string theory, such as the relation between the scattering of open and closed strings. |
