Two-dimensional N=(2,2) supersymmetric gauged linear sigma models offer a powerful framework to study questions of both physics and mathematics. Ever since their introduction they have been fruitfully applied to the study of type II string compactifications, and far reaching connections to geometry have been discovered. Moreover, they exhibit interesting gauge theory dynamics such as strong coupling phases and dualities. In this seminar I will talk about current research on these aspects in connection with supersymmetric gauge theory observables and modern localization techniques. |
