Argyres-Douglas (AD) theories constitute an infinite class of superconformal field theories in 4d with a number of interesting properties. A distinctive feature of these theories is the presence of Coulomb branch operators of fractional dimension. In this talk, we discuss several new aspects of two infinite classes of AD theories, known as the (A_m, A_n) theories and the D_p(SU(N)) theories. These include conformal manifolds, structures of the Higgs branch, as well as the 3d gauge theories coming from the reduction on a circle. The latter admits a description in terms of a linear quiver with unitary and special unitary gauge groups, along with a number of twisted hypermultiplets. We also propose the magnetic quivers for the (A_m, A_n) theories for general values of m and n, as well as those for the D_p(SU(N)) theories for general values of p and N. |
