Résumé |
With the advent of 3rd generation synchrotron light sources, there exist now new opportunities for measuring magnetic properties, dynamics with meV resolution and for scattering studies on light elements down to Hydrogen using X-rays, thus intruding realms once reserved to neutrons scattering.
In this talk we will show that, in most cases, all these new possibilities are complementing neutron scattering and spectroscopy, by adding new and exciting possibilities. An interesting case is the study of the interplay between orbital and spin ordering. Others concern spin and vibrational dynamics, and the complementarity between nuclear, magnetic and charge scattering in establishing charge and spin density maps.
