Titre |
Molecular assemblies confined in mesopores: Phase transformations and transport phenomena |
Résumé |
When molecular assemblies are spatially confined in pores a few nanometer across new physical properties and phenomenologies, unknown from the bulk state, can emerge. In my talk I will present experiments on the crystallization and glass formation of pore condensates as a function of the complexity of the molecular building blocks (n-alkanes, n-alcohols and liquid crystals) in mesoporous environments. Moreover, I will present experiments on molecular diffusion, liquid flow and protein translocation in and across mesopores and will highlight the differences between mesoscopic and macroscopic transport phenomenologies. |
