| Title | Character varieties and quiver representations |
| Abstract | Character varieties (moduli space of representation of fundamental groups of Riemann surfaces) appear in many areas of mathematics and also in physics. The computation of their cohomology started with Hitchin's work in 1987 and ended only recently with the work of Mellit in 2017. I will outline this and explain the relation with quiver representations and associated DT-invariants as defined by Kontsevich and Soibelman. |
