Title | New results for Rényi entanglement entropies in one-dimensional quantum critical systems with boundaries |
Abstract | Entanglement measures have turned out to be a powerful probe into the physics of 1D quantum critical systems. Most known exact results address the entanglement in critical quantum systems with periodic BC. For open systems, there are results for the Rényi entropies and other entanglement measures of an interval touching one of two identical boundaries with the rest of the system. However, for more generic bipartitions or mixed boundaries, few exact calculations have been completed. In this talk, we will present new results for the Rényi entropies of an interval in systems with open boundaries, and sketch, in a pedagogical manner, the key ideas of their computation through 2D CFT methods. This will be supplemented by comparison with spin chain numerics and a discussion of finite-size effects. Partly based on arXiv:2112.01929. |
