Titre | Observations on the chiral algebra of two-dimensional supersymmetric quantum field theories |
Résumé | I will review basic properties of the chiral algebra in a two-dimensional supersymmetric quantum field theory with at least two chiral supercharges and discuss two applications in RG flows from UV Lagrangian theories to non-trivial compact superconformal field theories. The first application is a solution to an old problem: finding UV representatives of so-called non-toric and non- polynomial marginal deformations of a (2,2) SCFT obtained as a non-linear sigma model with target space a Calabi-Yau hypersurface in a toric variety. The second application points out a new problem in an old class of field theories: a mystery in the IR dynamics of seemingly well-behaved Landau-Ginzburg theories with (0,2) supersymmetry. |
