Titre | Strong non-linearity regime of electron quantum optics |
Résumé | Edge channels in coherent Quantum Hall systems are celebrated as they carry of unique quantum excitations that are being actively explored in analogy to quantum optics. We discuss a complementary "high-energy" regime of electron quantum optics with quasi-particles injected on demand and propagating ballistically along depleted edge channels. Short pulse lengths (<10 ps) enable Coulomb-repulsion dominated collisions which can be seen as classical analogue of Hong-Ou-Mandel coincidence correlations. I will present analysis of recent experiments performed at National metrology insittute of Germany (PTB) and the UK (NPL) in the "hgih- energy" regime. Finally, I will discss prospects for studying strongly correlatated few-electron objects such as Coulomb liquids droplets driven by moving quantum dots and Laughlin solitons in depleted edge channels. |
