Titre | Metal insulator transitions in strongly correlated systems |
Résumé | In this talk, we discuss metal insulator transitions in the Hubbardmodel with special emphasis on those driven by doping. The physics of doped Mott insulators is of immense relevance to high Tc materials and other transition metal oxides. A brief review of metal-insulator transitions in general will be presented, followed by a more elaborate description of magnetic transitions induced by doping at finite temperatures. The effect of magnetism on the physical properties of the system like the interacting density of states and the compressibility is studied in detail using slave bosons, dynamical mean field theory and quantum Monte Carlo methods. Interestingly, we find that the loss of magnetic order at finite temperatures is accompanied by an anomalous enhancement of the electronic compressibility. We also discuss the relevance of our results for experiments |
