Titre | Surface enhanced raman spectroscopy in biology: drug protein interactions |
Résumé | Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) though discovered in early 70's has been harnessed in the recent decade. SERS has been developed to be a single molecular detection probe. With the greater understanding of SERS, it has been possible to study Biological systems by tailoring the metal nanoparticles. The talk will have three parts. In the first part synthesis of nanoparticles, specifically core shell nanoparticles and hot-spots would be discussed. The second part will deal with the use of SERS to study the full length therapeutic proteins such a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) protein p300 and its interaction with potential drug molecules to develop improvements in the drugs. The third part deals with the recent development of a kit for HIV subtype as well as recombinant virus based on the SERS technique. |
