ABJM theory is an example of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In recent years there has been an enormous
progress in computing the partition function of the gauge theory in a regime where contact with the
gravity dual can be made. In this talk we will discuss how contributions to the partition function which
corresponds to membrane instanton effects in the gravity dual can be computed. The equivalent problem
of computing non-perturbative effects in topological string theory on the manifold known as local P1*P1
will also be discussed. |
