This talk is based on a comparison between the manifestly T-dual invariant
non-covariant string action proposed by Tseytlin and the covariant one
proposed by Hull. In both of them, the string coordinates and their duals
explicitly appear, on the same footing. The two actions are therefore
based on a ?doubling? of the string coordinates along the compact
dimensions. It results that the string coordinates and their duals behave
like non-commuting phase space coordinates. Furthermore, the equivalence
between the two actions will be showed. |
