Title | Extended Gauge Theory Deformations From Flux Backgrounds |
Abstract | The Omega deformation has played an important role in the study of deformed supersymmetric gauge theories in various dimensions already for a number of years. Its deformation parameter can act not only as the regulator of the path integral for localization, but also as a Planck constant and as a non-commutative parameter. In this seminar, starting from the omega deformation in string theory, I will present various deformed backgrounds with RR-fluxes giving rise to a new type of deformation in supersymmetric gauge theories via brane constructions. These deformations have the form of a Wilson line defect and its higher-dimensional generalizations, obtained by twisting the R-symmetry into the gauge symmetry. The resulting theories display the symmetries associated to defects of co-dimension 2 and 3. This talk is mainly based on [1803.05916] in collaboration with N.Lambert, D.Orlando, and S.Reffert. The introduction/review part is based on [1106.0279, 1204.4192]. |
